Religious freedom and ethics

Thesis 93

Freedom of religion, and respect for those of other faiths, is a matter of course. Everyone is encouraged to engage in inter-religious dialogue. The common ground for standing up for the Federal Republic of Germany is to be emphasised to the extent that all religious communities can regard this country as their home as long as their views are compatible with the Basic Law.

Thesis 94

In all legislative procedures, the German Ethics Council will be permitted to make presentations on the respective projects from the Ethics Council’s perspective. To that end, the Bundestag shall grant a spokesperson of the Ethics Council the right, on request, to make the Ethics Council’s viewpoint known in a plenary session on the legislative procedure.

Thesis 95

All members of “Jetzt Demokratie” are committed to the restoration of the free democratic basic order and recognise that only peaceful means of conflict are accepted.

Restoring the functioning of the German economy and cultural life is an overriding priority.
